It can be very difficult to know how to help a friend, relative or partner who has been sexually assaulted or raped. But you can be a good source of support for them, even though you might find it daunting.
It will have an emotional impact on them, and it is likely to affect you, too. You may feel a range of emotions such as anger, shock, guilt and a general feeling of helplessness. All of these are normal. But it is important that you think of your own wellbeing as well.
